Sunday

Participants arrive on Sunday afternoon, check-in from 4pm. Meet all the fishing group with welcome Reception at 7pm in the Cocktail Lounge for an Aperitif followed by Dinner in our Steakhouse at 7:30pm.

08:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Leisurely Breakfast in our Restaurant overlooking Lough Eske
10:00 a.m. Start Programme in Boathouse
1. Health and Safety: Keeping safe whilst Fly - Fishing
2. Fly casting instruction - What is it all about?
3. Types of Fly - Fishing: Dry, Wet, Nymph, Trout, Sea Trout, Salmon: Aiming to deceive the fish
4. The gear, how do we prepare to go fishing and get it all together?
11:00 a.m. Tea & Coffee
11:30 a.m. Reels, Rods, Lines, Knots.
12.00a.m. Introduction to practical casting on the lawn and warm up.
01:00 p.m. Lunch in Conference Room (Casting DVD)
02:00 p.m. Practical Casting Instruction on the Lawn
How to cast including Demo and Participation covering basic casting principles.
Group and Individual tuition to cast a straight line to a target using basic overhead cast.
03:30 p.m. Tea & Coffee Break
04:00 p.m. Group and Individual practice and further tuition relative to the learning curve of the group
Perfecting technique and how to fish a fly for trout and or salmon (using lakeside)
05:30 p.m. End of Day 1
06:30 p.m. - 09:30 p.m. Dinner served in our Gourmet Restaurant

Tuesday

08:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Leisurely Breakfast in our Restaurant overlooking Lough Eske
10:00 a.m. Start Day 2
1. Perfecting casting and taking account of conditions and change of direction.
2. Casting to targets
3. More practice and brushing up to technique for accuracy and control.
4. Striking fish, playing fish, landing fish, despatching fish, catch and release.
01:00 p.m. Lunch in Boathouse
02:00 p.m. Flies, Lures, Knots, Leaders
More Casting and Fishing technique on water
03:30 p.m. Tea & Coffee Break
04:00 p.m. More practicing and refining technique from Lough shore
05:30 p.m. End of Day 2
06:30 p.m. - 09:30 p.m. Dinner served in our Gourmet Restaurant
Review of day and workshop / Feedback and Questions

Wednesday

08:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Leisurely Breakfast in our Restaurant overlooking Lough Eske
10:00 a.m. Assemble in the Boathouse - Questions & Answers
River casting techniques, including roll cast and change of direction.
Review of course - Prepare gear for your fishing trip/expedition, discussing and identifying fishing options in Donegal, Ireland and abroad.
11:45 a.m. Fly - Fishing Tuition ends, farewell Drink in the Boathouse
